“Mommy, I will be as quiet as a squeaky mouse…. when he isn’t squeaking.”

parenting conundrum

July 10, 2012

It is so frustrating when she falls asleep in the car for about 10 minutes, and then wakes when we stop.  Not nearly enough afternoon nap, and it is only mid-day… so at 2pm she is super grumpy, and i try again with the nap.  And then she doesn’t seem sleepy (just cranky), and screams bloody murder.  And do I leave her to scream for 30 minutes, and hope that she crashes?  Or do I pick her up and deal with her misery for another while?  I feel bad thinking that I’m leaving her to scream for half an hour… but really, it’s only half an hour.  But you should hear her scream.  SCREAM!  And it’s her complaining scream- her real cry is actually quite quiet- so I am going to ride it out.  But the guilt is there.

Ah, the little tiny problems that I face.  In reality, it’s just a nap.  I see that.  But it’s also my day, my miserable child, my boys who get tired of her grumpyness.

So she will scream while I type.  LOL!

Oh, boys…

Charlie: “Jack, you are being a pain in the ass!”

Me: “Charlie!  You can’t say that!  Those are adult words!”

Charlie: “Well, then YOU say it!”
